About A Better Path Psychotherapy
At A Better Path Psychotherapy, our goal is to help clients better understand the paths that have brought them to where they are today and work toward finding and traveling along better paths in the future.
Located in Armonk, NY, we provide psychotherapy services for adolescents and adults throughout Westchester County and offer secure telehealth services for clients across New York State, Connecticut, and Florida.
We work with individuals facing a variety of concerns, including anger management, trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, family of origin concerns, life transitions, and the feeling of being stuck in patterns that no longer serve them.
We work from the understanding that all of us are the way we are for very good reasons, but there may be better ways to achieve our goals than the methods we’ve relied upon in the past.
It is important to us to work with our clients as a cohesive team, developing individualized therapeutic strategies based on each person’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals. People are different and should not be pressed into a cookie-cutter approach.
Some clients benefit from in-depth therapy focused on childhood experiences, trauma, loss, and the ways these events continue to impact their lives. Others focus on developing practical tools to better manage stress, relationships, emotions, and life challenges. Most people find themselves working on some combination of both.
Shaun Levine, LCSW-R
I strive to create a safe and trustworthy environment where clients feel supported while also being challenged to move toward meaningful change.
My work integrates several therapeutic approaches, including:
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy
- Interpersonal Neurobiology
- Family Systems Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
I believe that therapy is most effective when the work extends beyond the therapy office. Because of this, I often collaborate with clients on practical strategies and exercises they can use between sessions to strengthen the progress we make together.
Since 1999, I have practiced psychotherapy throughout the Westchester area after receiving my Master’s Degree in Social Work from New York University.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the “R” designation (LCSW-R), services may be reimbursable through out-of-network insurance plans that include mental health benefits.
